Receiving gifts is always enjoyable, especially when they have been thoughtfully and carefully packaged. Take a few minutes to make it look nice, whether it’s a special gift or a bottle of wine you grabbed quickly to bring to a party.

Wondering how to wrap a bottle?

Wine bottles might not be the easiest shape to wrap, but with a few simple tricks, a basic gift can be taken to a whole new level. Let’s start!

Tips For Wrapping A Bottle

  • High-end, luxurious wrapping paper is less likely to tear.
  • Before beginning, have all of your equipment nearby.
  • A double-sided tape is a common tool for professional gift wrappers.
  • For a fashionable finish, make your own bows.
  • Work at a level that is comfortable for you, ideally while standing at a kitchen counter or seated at a large table.

What You Need:

  • Cellophane wrap
  • Sticky tape (ideally double-sided)
  • Tissue paper
  • Ribbon

Step 1

Each edge of the tissue paper should have a piece of double-sided sticky tape applied to it. After that, adhere the two layers together by placing the cellophane on top.

Step 2

Turn the package over so that the cellophane is on the bottom and the tissue paper side is on top. The bottle should be placed in the center, with one edge folded up to the top of the bottleneck.

Step 3

Create a pleat in the paper (a vertical fold) and gather the paper up bit by bit, pleating as you go. Once you’ve used all the tissue paper, go around the bottle one more time.

Step 4

Tie a piece of ribbon around the wrapping at the neck to keep it in place while holding it together. Finish by incorporating your preferred ornamentation. Here, Wrapsody uses a pine cone and dried orange slices, but berries, bows, and herb sprigs would also look festive and fantastic.

Another Method To Wrap A Bottle

The aforementioned videos are not only for wine bottles. Any cylindrical gift, including food, toiletries, or candles, can be wrapped using this method. Check out this detailed tutorial for wrapping cylindrical objects using our Confetti wrapping paper.

  • Step 1: Cut your paper appropriately.
  • Step 2: Place your gift on the paper. To make sure the paper can’t roll, attach the paper’s edge to the gift or bottle.
  • Step 3: To create a crisp and tidy line, fold the paper along the opposite edge.
  • Step 4: Secure the edge with double-sided tape.
  • Step 5: Make a series of evenly spaced cuts in the wrapping paper along the bottom of the item.
  • Step 6: Use double-sided tape to hold the neatly folded paper sections in place after neatly folding them in half.
  • Step 7: Up to the top now. Make even cuts about an inch apart and trim any extra paper. Between the bottom of your cuts and the top of the item, leave 1-2mm. Each section should be folded in half and glued together.
  • Step 8: Finish with a bow or ribbon and tape to secure.
